Where it began
Foliage Walls grew out of ShimmerWalls, the business we started in 2016 to make sequin walls for launches, flagship stores, theatres and hotels. More than three thousand walls later, the same request kept arriving from the same clients: could we do this in green?
We went looking for green walls we would be happy to put our name to, and most fell short at arm's length. Flat colour, visible backing, a certificate that could not be found when the fire officer asked. So we set out to make our own, to the standard our clients already expected from us.
A family business, first
We are still a family firm, and we still work the way we always have. The people who answer your first call are the people who draw your wall, choose the foliage and come to site.
That closeness is why we reply the same day, why a quote arrives with a drawing rather than a price list, and why the person who promised you a date is the one who keeps it.
What we believe
A wall should earn its place. It should make a lobby calmer, a bar warmer and a brand more alive, and it should keep doing that without asking for water, daylight or a maintenance contract.
So we design every panel to be seen from a bar stool, fitted without closing your doors and then left alone for a decade. Two gentle hose-downs a year is all we ask.
The people who fit your wall
Our installers have worked in live hotels at two in the morning, in flagship stores the night before a launch and in venues with a wedding booked for the afternoon. They arrive when we said they would, protect the floor, keep the noise down and leave the room cleaner than they found it.
On larger and more complex projects, one project manager stays with you from the first site visit to the handover walk-round, in person.
Not every space can keep a living wall alive, and not every budget should have to try. That is where we come in.
The most convincing foliage we could make
Each panel layers ferns, buxus, grasses and blossom at four heights, so light falls into the planting the way it does in a real hedge rather than bouncing off a flat surface.
Colour is pigmented through the material, UV stabilisers keep it from fading on a south-facing terrace, and every panel is fire-retardant and tested. The certificates come to you as PDFs, before we arrive.
Designed with you
No two lobbies, bars or brands are alike, so no two walls should be. Choose from four foliages, add Character Packs for colour and texture, ask us to match your brand colour exactly, and plan signage into the wall from the first drawing.
Every quote comes with a visual of your wall in your space, so you can see it before you commit.
